This lesson will introduce by the teacher reading. This Place Is Wet. Its important that the students manipulate the materials to experience learning in a realistic manner that can be easily transferred to the real
world. In this activity students will create a rain catcher. The students will then place their rain catchers in various places on the playground and the teacher will turn on the sprinklers for various times for a
30 minute period. This lesson is one of the math lessons, also included within the rainforest unit are: Social Studies, language arts, Writing and Music.
