This lesson will be introducing students to the goals of our government set forth by the preamble and the basic concepts of the three branches of government in Articles I, II, and III. Students need to understand the principles of separation of powers, popular sovereignty, checks and balances, and limited government which are the framework of the U.S. Constitution.
