TCREC: Tribal Clean Energy Resource Center
With support from our partners at NAU and beyond, TCERC will strive to develop a broad range of services to meet the needs of tribal technical personnel, tribal leadership, and students looking to enter the renewable energy workforce.
Technical Assistance: Technical assistance activities will be performed by project staff, DOE lab partners and other external partners.
Policy Analysis: Work collaboratively with national tribal organizations such as CERT and NCAI to provide analysis of clean energy policy issues of importance and relevance.
Business Planning, Analysis and Realization: Provide tribes with direct assistance, training and resources for development of business plans to support clean energy development opportunities. Development of sustainable business models and rigorous economic evaluation of energy solutions. This will include business planning assistance, business viability testing, and economic analysis of markets, business potential and success.
Internships: Recruit and employ Native American students at NAU, tribal colleges, and other universities to participate actively in internships, research programs, and technical assistance projects.
NAU is recipient of a grant which targets Native American high school and college students towards a pathway from high school to college to DOE careers in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) disciplines at Lawrence Livermore National Labs.
Training and Professional Development: Develop a professional clean energy workforce for tribal governments and Native American enterprises through both long-term e.g. K-20 STEM education, innovative graduate studies, post graduate certificates and focused training programs e.g. workshops, web-based curricula, mentor assistance.
