Title:
Solid Waste and Household Hazardous Waste Tracking Methods and Forms

Description:
The Pala Environmental Department (PED) has steadily built up their solid waste program over the last decade to include trash disposal, mulching/composting, re-cycling, and a new Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) curbside collection pilot. PED has also had to develop a number of different tracking forms (for customers of our transfer station as well as staff), inventory sheets, grant and financial tracking, and SOP’s for all of our programs. We will review our various tracking methods, databases, forms, SOP’s, and expertise so that other tribes can learn from our missteps along the way without having to re-invent the wheel themselves. This will help tribes in their own efforts to run a recycling/HHW program and/or set up a transfer station of their own. Heidi Brow and Alexis Wallick, Pala Band of Mission Indians during TLEF 2019
