Description:
The General Motors Superfund Site is in two northern New York counties on the St. Lawrence River. The site is adjacent to and upstream from the Mohawk Nation. There are some 4,000 Mohawks impacted by contaminated waters of the St. Lawrence River and its’ tributaries. The community traditionally uses river waters and wetland areas for drinking water, subsistence practices, and cultural and ceremonial traditions. - NPL documents of interest may be available through ITEP’s resource library.
