- The Onondaga Lake Superfund Site is located in central New York, near the
Onondaga Nation. The lake holds cultural significance to multiple Tribal Nations. At the site, five Native Nations, including the Onondaga, came together to end warfare among themselves and created the Haudenosaunee Confederacy. The surrounding Tribes traditionally uses the lake waters and wetland areas for cultural and ceremonial practices.
