President's Welcome

Welcome to the home page for the Northern Arizona University Retirees Association (NAURA).  The NAURA welcomes all NAU retirees and those planning to retire soon into its membership.  Many of your friends and colleagues are already members, and you are likely to make new acquaintances with former employees of the University you never had an opportunity to meet.

We convene quarterly not only to share past experiences but to learn more about topics of interest.  In the past our luncheon programs have addressed such issues as health care, the politics of northern Arizona, and the history of the region in its early days of development.  Our December meeting features a festive luncheon and music of the holiday season.  The final meeting in May is our annual business meeting at which time we install the leadership for the coming year.

Although our quarterly gatherings over lunch are what regularly being us together, there is potential for on-going activities in other small groups.  These include our Adopt-a-Highway clean up group, which cleans up the I-17 Rocky Park Road interchange three times a year.  There are also men’s and women’s lunch groups that meet each month.  Given the breadth of interests and experience of its members, the NAURA can be shaped by contributions that our new associates bring to the group.  We hope you will participate actively in order to expand the opportunities for involvement.

NAURA membership is open to all NAU retirees and those planning to retire in the near future.  We also welcome spouses and partners, along with survivors of NAU retirees.  The annual dues are $15.00 (June 1 to May 31) and Life Memberships are $225.00.  A membership enrollment form is available by clicking on the link shown to the left of this note.
