Lesson Description:
A Brief Lesson Description: Students will create a flag mural that expresses their feelings and patriotism towards the American troops in Operation Iraqi
Freedom. While working in heterogeneous groups, the students will read, share, and discuss current newspaper articles about Operation Iraqi Freedom. Students
will also have the opportunity to write answers to prompts about patriotism in a short essay paragraph form. The students' responses to the prompts will be
posted on the white stripes of the flag. Note: flag mural will be created prior to this class.
