Lesson Description:
This lesson is intended to be given to 6th, 7th and 8th grade mentally challenged students and/or Potential English Proficient (PEP). But it is designed for students with significant disabilities aged 3 to 21 years
because it is based on the Arizona Functional Standards under the content area of Math and Standard 2: Data analysis and probability. The lesson intends to develop students' ability to compare and sort objects by
their physical attributes. It is necessary for students to build this foundation to be able to get more skills based on the physical attributes: - Then in the future be able to do things like: bag groceries at
store (hard/heavy, soft/light), organize measuring cups by size. - To Increase vocabulary because mentally challenged does not mean English proficient. This lesson is to target second language learners.
