Student Summer Internship Program
Hosting a SIP Intern:
The SIP program is designed to give meaningful experience to tribal high school and college students, while meeting the needs
of the local tribal environmental offices or other agencies. Host agencies will be paired with a local tribal student to work
on a specific project on air quality or climate change issues. It is expected that the host site will provide supervision and mentoring for the
interns placed in their care.
Student interns will have the opportunity to spend one or two weeks working on air quality or climate change related issues
impacting on tribal nations. There are no travel funds for students, so the interns should live close to your office. If you
know a student in your area that would be interested working on tribal air quality or climate change or related issues, please provide them our
contact information or have them visit our website at:
SIP Internships
We see this program as a great opportunity to build capacity in local tribal youth by building bridges to future environmental
careers in their own communities.
