Student Summer Internship (SSI) Program
Short Internship Program (SIP):
Native American high school and college students can apply for the Short Internship Program (SIP). Applications are accepted on
an ongoing basis and placements are made regularly.
High School & College Students:
High School and College students will have the opportunity to spend 20 to 80 hours working on air quality or air quality
related issues impacting on tribal nations. We prefer to place student interns close to home or school. The purpose of the
internship is to expose students to a potential career opportunity.
Compensation:
Typically $500 for 40 hours of work.
Expectations:
Students are responsible for locating an internship site where they can complete their internship. The EEOP staff is
available to assist with locating potential internship sites.
Interns are required to complete a final report and evaluations.
Application Process:
If you are interested in an internship, please complete the on-line application. Your application will be evaluated based
on complete, meaningful responses to each question. We recommend completing the application in a word processing application
where you can check the spelling and grammar, then copy and paste the text into the on-line application. Two or three
thoughtful, well-written paragraphs would be appropriate for each section of the application.
