People Search - Help

Basic search allows you to search for people at NAU by name only. You can enter full names as in

Elvis Aaron Presley
George Ivan Morrison
Stephanie Lynn Nicks

or you can enter partial names if you're not sure what a person's full name is as in

Elvis Presley
Ivan Morrison
Stephanie Nicks

And if you only know one of the person's names or you're not sure of the spelling you can enter something like this: (try to avoid searching on a single letter such as: E Presley)

El Pres
Ste Nicks
Nicks

Of course, the less specific your search terms are, the more likely your search will return dozens of incorrect entries.

You may find these tips helpful:

• Be as specific as possible.
• Always include at least two letters
• It is usually not necessary to use wildcard characters like '*' in your searches.  Wildcard characters are automatically added at the end of the search terms.
• The search will take longer if you enter very short search terms since the directory must sort through many more potential matches.

 Advanced search allows you to search for people by name, affiliation, phone number, uid, department, job title and academic plan.  Users with administrative privileges have additional criteria that they can search on.

The results of the search must meet all of the search criteria entered or selected.
