Lesson Description:

This lesson introduces students to the constitution of the United Sates of America, focusing on the First Amendment of the Constitution. They will have a basic understanding of how the U.S. government operates and why we have a democratic system of government. Students will be given time to reflect on the meaning of "Freedom", and connect this to the Fist amendment of the Constitution which states that everyone in this country is entitle to the freedom of religion, speech or the press, the right of people to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievance.
