This report describes a comprehensive assessment of climate change related health effects in Kiana, Alaska. Kiana is an Inupiat community of approximately 361 residents, located on the Kobuk River, about 60 miles east of Kotzebue. Described health effects include permafrost thaw-driven damage to water and waste water infrastructure, decreased food secruity and safety and increased travel hazards related to river change.
