Farm-to-School Program Resources

Farm-to-School refers to the wide range of issues involved in acquiring local food for school cafeterias. Some of the topics include health department and other certifications necessary to sell directly to schools, how to substitute local food in school cafeteria menus while maintaining USDA or other government funding for school lunches, and some of the food sovereignty issues involved. This section also includes educational, training and certification resources, grant programs to support sourcing food from local farms, relevant school curricular opportunities, some case studies, and links to other resources.
