Melinda Yaiva

Melinda is the Assistant Manager for Institute for Tribal Environmental Professionals (ITEP) at Northern Arizona University. Melinda joined ITEP in March of 2010, as an Administrative Assistant, and in December 2012 Melinda moved in the position as ITEP’s Assistant Manager. She manages the daily ins and outs of ITEP’s Budget Office. Prior to working with ITEP, Melinda worked for the Institute for Human Development here at Northern Arizona University. She has also worked with Undergraduate Admissions and Recruitment both here in the Flagstaff and Phoenix Offices.

Melinda is a member of the Havasupai and Hopi Tribes. Havasupai, which means "People of the Blue Green Waters", is located in the bottom of the Grand Canyon, which is only accessible by horse, hiking or helicopter. Havasupai is surrounded by beautiful canyon walls and blue green waterfalls.

Away from work Melinda enjoys spending time with her family, going to art walks, mountain biking, and hiking.
