IAQTC: Indoor Air Quality in Tribal Communities
IAQTC: National Conferences and Outreach to Tribes:
To help promote and advance the development of sound IAQ management practices in tribal communities, ITEP will provide travel scholarships to tribes to
attend national conferences such as the EPA National Asthma Forum, the Tools for Schools IAQ Symposium, and the National Tribal Forum on Air Quality.
Below is a list of conferences that have been supported by this program.
National Asthma Forum:
The National Asthma Forum was held June 9-10, 2011, in Washington, DC. The IAQTC staff and tribal staff attended
the National Asthma Forum.
National Asthma Forum
The purpose of attending the conference was to develop partnerships with the IAQTC staff to address asthma in tribal
communities.
National Tribal Forum on Air Quality:
The National Tribal Forum on Air Quality was held June 14-16, 2011 in Spokane, WA. ITEP staff provided travel
scholarships to eleven tribal professionals. The indoor air quality break sessions focused on tribal radon programs and
mitigation, mold remediation, weatherization and indoor air quality, asthma and Tribal Healthy Homes.
