The Arizona American Indian Asthma Coalition presents an Arizona American
Indian Air Quality and Asthma Triggers Conference, which will be held at Northern Arizona University.
Native American and Alaskan Native asthma rates are almost double the national average. Asthma is a major crossroads of Arizona
tribal health and environmental concerns. Join us to discuss how to take steps now to improve the health and well-being of your
community.
Plenary Sessions:
Achieving "Asthma-Friendly" indoor environments in homes and schools. Learn about the connections between health
and environment (indoor and outdoor).
Breakout Sessions:
Share ideas for addressing asthma issues. Develop community partnerships to address asthma issues, including healthy schools,
healthy homes, and healthy communities.
Who Should Attend:
- School staff, including district administrators, maintenance directors, and school nurses from schools that serve Native American students.
- Preschool administrators
- Tribal Leaders and Tribal Environmental staff.
- Tribal Health Directors
- Tribal environmental health staff and health educators.
- Tribal Clinic staff involved in the treatment of asthma.
- Community Health Representatives.
- Tribal housing staff.
