AIAQTP: American Indian Air Quality Training Program
ITEP's American Indian Air Quality Training Program (AIAQTP) provides training and educational outreach for
tribal environmental staff all over the United States, including Alaska. The various projects and services
highlighted below help the AIAQTP to accomplish the following goals:
- Assist in the building of tribal capacity for air quality management
- Provide high-quality, up-to-date training that is immediately relevant to tribes
- Enhance communication skills to promote collaboration and networking
Tribal Air Monitoring Support (TAMS) Center:
One of the key components of ITEP's air quality program is the TAMS Center. The Tribal Air Monitoring (TAMS) Center was created through a partnership between Tribes, ITEP and the US EPA. It is the first technical training center designed specifically to meet the needs of tribes involved in air quality management and offers an array of training and support services to tribal air professionals.
